summer crochet vest patterns

Since warmer weather is in full swing, I thought it would be fun to do a roundup post of some of my favorite crochet summer vest patterns!

All of the below patterns are free and are perfect layering pieces for the summer. Most of these patterns are beginner friendly and are crocheted with very basic stitches.

Hopefully you will find some inspiration and discover some designers you may not know about!

8 Summer Vest Patterns

1. Joni Topper by Sewrella

I love the racerback look to this Joni Topper vest pattern. It adds a dramatic element to the piece. The fringe gives it a cute boho feel as well.

It is crocheted in a lightweight cotton polyester blend and includes sizes XS-XXL. This is a perfect layering piece for the summer!

2. The Hippie Dippie Vest by Maria’s Blue Crayon

This super lightweight vest from Maria’s Blue Crayon has a long flowy look to it. The construction of this vest is fairly easy and consists of only three triangles sewn together, making this a great beginner pattern.

Sizes for this pattern include XS-4X. This is a great vest to wear over a t-shirt with jeans!

3. The XOXO Vest by Hooked on Homemade Happiness

I just love the XOXO Vest by Breann! This is a great beginner pattern consisting of one big rectangle with armholes. How easy is that?

It is a great feminine and airy vest that features an open and flowy design. Pattern sizes include S-XL.

4. The Saltwater Taffy Vest by Hooked on Tilly

This Saltwater Taffy vest by Bailey just screams fun! I love how you can really make this vest your own by incorporating as many colors as you like.

Be adventurous and go for brighter colors, or play it down with more muted earth tones. The fringe adds a stylish element as well!

5. Ombre Boho Vest by Croyden Crochet

I just love the Ombre look of this summer vest. It is crocheted using Red Heart Super Saver Ombre yarn. This vest can also be crocheted in any #4 weight yarn.

The construction of this vest is fairly easy and incorporates a fun open stitch called the triangle stitch. Of course I had to add fringe!

5. Lightweight Spring Vest by Jenny and Teddy

The popular Lion Brand Mandala yarn is used to make this colorful and breezy vest pattern. This pattern is worked up in the v-stitch making this vest airy and comfortable at the same time.

Sizes for this vest include S-XL. Only 2-3 mandala cakes are used to cover all sizes of this vest pattern.

7. Summer Stroll Vest by Two Brothers Blankets

The Summer Stroll Vest is the ideal vest for warmer weather! This pattern works up quickly and uses only basic stitches to create it’s beautiful lacy look.

This vest pattern is worked in a lightweight fingering yarn making for a gorgeous drapey look. Sizes for this pattern include XS-2X.

8. Daydreamer Vest by Megmade with Love

The Daydreamer Vest is an easy-going pattern that will pair well with any outfit. It consists of basic stitches such as chains and double crochets. The stripe detail on the bottom adds a nice touch!

This is a simple vest to crochet, and the fringe makes it such a fun piece to add to your wardrobe. Pair this vest with a tank and jeans or a cute sundress.

That’s it! I really hope you have found something that inspires you! I just love all these patterns and each one brings something new. Happy crocheting 🙂
