Inspiration

As some of you may know, I love working with color. I like to incorporate color into my designs wherever I can. As we head into the Fall months, I am seeing the leaves change into such beautiful colors of red, orange, yellow, brown and green. I wanted to create an earwarmer pattern that you could include multiple colors in a creative way.

If you are like me, you have leftover yarn from several projects taking over your house! The Everest Crochet Earwarmer only consists of a few yards for each color you want to use, making it a great pattern to use up some of that scrap yarn.

Design

The design of the Everest Earwarmer is very simple. You will need to know how to single crochet, double crochet and half double crochet. You will also need to know how to crochet post stitches. I have included a video to help you. The earwarmer is worked in joined rounds. Ribbing is added to the earwarmer for a classic look. This pattern works up quickly and makes for a great last minute gift.

The Yarn

What’s great about the Everest Crochet Earwarmer is you can use any worsted weight yarn you have on hand, and you don’t need a lot either.  I used multiple brands of yarn to crochet this pattern. Some of the yarns I used include Stylecraft Aran, Paintbox Simply Aran, Lion Brand Vanna’s Choice and Hobby Lobby I Love This Yarn. If it worsted weight, it will work for this pattern. I was able to mix and match these yarns without an issue with gauge.

The pattern is written with three colors. However, you can certainly use as many colors as you like. The amount of yarn you will need depends on how much you want to use of that specific color. I have listed below in the Materials section how much you will need if using 3 colors.
