Hi Friends! I just love working up new crochet stitches. In this tutorial I am going to show you how to crochet the Stately Stitch. This is a fun and gorgeous stitch that works up quickly. It consists of a six row repeat of various stitches. I know six rows may sound like a lot, but I promise it’s not difficult.

I really love the look this stitch gives. It’s a nice open and airy stitch that would work well with making tops, markets bags, scarves and wraps. It is quickly becoming one of my favorite crochet stitches.

This is a great stitch to work up if you are new to crochet because it incorporates a number of various stitches. These stitches include the chain stitch, double crochet, single crochet and the treble crochet. I really hope you like learning how to crochet the Stately Stitch!

Lets get started! 🙂

How to Crochet the Stately Stitch

This stitch is worked in multiples of 11 plus 5 chains.

The Ch.3 at the beginning of each row counts as a dc. Each row ends with working a dc in the top of the ch.3 of previous row.

For the example below I chained 22 plus 5 more for a total of 27 chains.
